The root pictured above was a teenager compared to the granddaddy I found when I pulled up the remainder of last winter's daikon about mid-April. In diameter, it was nearly as big as my forearm. It was kinked and twisted, and I broke the tip when I pulled it from the ground. But if it had grown straight I think it might have been nearly three feet long.
